Around 1 in 5 Australian adults experience a common mental illness each year.
Calm Minds Group offers Mental Health First Aid Training to individuals within the community and to organisations. We deliver the Standard Mental Health First Aid course accredited by Mental Health First Aid Australia.
Understanding how to talk about mental health and help someone in need are important skills to have. Many people feel uncomfortable and unprepared when thinking about starting a conversation with someone they are concerned about.
Mental Health First Aid training will teach you how to recognise the signs and symptoms of mental health problems and learn the skills to feel confident and able to help.
Having mental health first aid skills means that you can assist someone developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis and make a real difference to your community and within your workplace.
The Standard Mental Health First Aid course is a 12-hour course run over two consecutive days. The course teaches adults how to provide initial support to other adults who are developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis. Participants in the course are able to go ahead and become an Accredited Mental Health First Aider or simply just have the knowledge to provide initial support to another individual.
